Key focus of job:

Main tasks & capabilities:

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft applications including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint

THE DEPARTMENT: 

This is an expanding department, currently with 11 portfolio management accountants and 2 clerks.

THE ROLE: To provide a full accounting function – responsible for the delivery of the complete accounting service to a selection of important clients.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Raising rents and issuing demands to tenants 
  • Calculating interest due on late payment 
  • Banking and processing of income 
  • Maintaining computerized cash book 
  • Consolidating month end bank balances 
  • Maintenance of all records on TRAMPS accounting package 
  • Processing supplier invoices 
  • Calculation of increased rent and interest following review 
  • Preparation of client statements 
  • VAT reporting 
  • Preparation of services charge reconciliation 
  • Cash reconciliation 
  • Preparation of completion statements for solicitors 
  • CIS reporting

Job Vacancy - Senior Client Accountant

Position: Senior Client Accountant

The position involves supervising and managing one/two staff. This is a high profile position within the Management Dept as the position involves maintaining a relationship with one of the practices most important clients. It involves a certain amount of entertaining with the client on a quarterly basis.

System used: TBS Tramps

Day to day responsibilities:-

  • Supervising another client accountant and monitoring a bought ledger clerk 
  • Demand and collect rent and service charge on behalf of clients 
  • Monthly and quarterly reporting to clients. Adhering to client requirements and deadlines. 
  • Payover of receipts to client 
  • Weekly bespoke arrears reports 
  • Calculation of VAT returns and payments to HMCE 
  • Calculation and raising of fees 
  • Dealing with day to day tenant enquiries and working closely with surveyors to ensure smooth running of portfolio  
  • Annual reconciliation of service charges in accordance with the RICS service charge code 
  • Maintaining and reconciling client bank accounts 
  • Maintaining and reconciling deposit accounts 
  • Compliance with RICS regulations on client monies and instructions  
  • Acting on surveyors instructions with regards to leases 
  • Liaising with solicitors with regards to leases and completion statements  
  • Compiling bespoke excel reports on a weekly and monthly basis using downloads from TBS TRAMPS. 
  • Attending on-site management meetings with the client

Job Vacancy: Client Accountant

Job Description:

  • Dealing with client accounting including: timely transfer of client’s funds, VAT reporting, bank reconciliation, and rent deposit administration.
  • Administrating of the direct debit system for collection of rental income.
  • Preparation of year end service charge accounts
  • Operations of purchase ledger
  • Dealing with RPI and Turnover rent computations


Skills and qualifications

  • At least 4 years’ relevant hands-on property management accounting experience
  • Experience of using computer-based property management accounting systems, e.g. TRAMPS
  • A total commitment to client service
  • Part-qualification, e.g. AAT would be helpful
  • Numerate and literate
  • Good spreadsheet skills (MS Excel v.2000)
